30 Day makeup challenge day 11

 Do you like wearing Bronzer?

I never used to. In fact, until the past few months I dont even think I owned any. I like the fact that I have really fair skin, and bronzer always kind of looked ridiculous on me. Even now, I only use it to create a little bit of a glow. It is hard for me to get a bronzer that can go with my skin tone, and I dont know if this is something I do or if other people do it as well, but if I feel like I do need a bronzer, but dont want to look like a clown, I will just buy a powder foundation 2-3 shades darker then what I am and it has the same effect without looking orange on my skin. I dont know, maybe I'm weird lol. Have a good day guys =)

30 day makeup challenge day 10

Alright ladies,, the question for day 10 =)

What is your favorite makeup brush?

This one made me think a little bit. I'm not sure to answer this as a favorite brush brand type or favorite type of brush.........Hmmmmmm

I guess I'll just answer both =)

I would have to say my favorite brand is Real Techniques. I think these are extremely reasonably priced for the amzing quality that you get. I mean I can get around 4-5 brushes for around $20. I have payed more then that for a single eyeshadow brush. That gives them 5 stars with me =)

My favorite type of brush has to be an eyeshadow brush tho. and if I had to pick one, it would be something similar to the brush that comes in the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. It is a very simple brush and to me it was the selling point of the palette. I'm not one of those people that uses 10 different brushes to achieve a look. I feel like I can acomplish any look by using around 2 brushes and by putting the right amount of product in the right spot. The way I see it is, relating this to art, is that I can have the best and most expensive brushes out there, and that's not going to make me a master artist. A certain amount of skill is required as well. Don't get me wrong, the right tools will deff get you a long way. I just dont feel like anyone should have to spend $30 on a single brush designed to do one thing, So when you come across great brushes in palettes, take advantage of that!!!

Hope this gives some insight as to my faves. Have a good night guys!!

30 Day Makeup Challenge Day 8

Alright, so the question for day 8 is:

What is your favorite dayime look?

This is a question I really don't know how to answer. I dont really do a daytime or a nightime look. If I were going out that night I may redo my eyeliner and choose a darker lipstick, but I dont have a specific look I go for depending upon the time of day. But most of the time I tend to lean towards a smokey look. I can do it in any color I choose and I can use more golden toned shades for the summer so it can be worn year round. but that's just me =) Have a good day guys!!!

Sallys Eyeshadow singles

So this is one of those brands that I dont hear of to often. Sallys beauty supply has their own line of makeup products, most of them are small in size and they are almost all $1. So you could see why these would appeal to me =) I've posted pictures below and I will go through my thoughts about them.

So these are all really gorgeous shades. the first six are baked singles, as you can see in the swatches, the first two I did wet and dry, but I didnt notice much of a difference so I just did the other four dry. These arnt the most pigmented of eyeshadows. They are very sheer when used with makeup brushes, I had to use sponge tip applicators just to get the desired pigmentation, even then it was iffy. These arnt eyeshadows I would use by themselves to achieve a look. I will probably just use them to add a little bit of sheer color to whatever look im going for that day. I do think the gold toned eyeshadow is a great inner eye highlight tho =) the other two are matte colors that kind of stood out to me. these are really pigmented but kind of chalky, I would compare these to the ELF eyeshadows. but at a $1 a piece I cant really complain, I mean that is a gorgeous shade of like a robins egg blue. I would proabably buy these for little gift favors, when im buying things for a lot of people, just bc the baked singles are so pretty to look at =) If you are intrested in a paticular color I have on here, just message or comment and I'll be happy to let you know the name of it!

This is the look I achieved with these shadows,,,, have a good day ladies =)

30 day makeup challenge days 5-7

Sorry I havent been on here in the last few days,,,, I almost always get most of my hours at work on the weekends, and I spent the day yesterday changing my hair up a bit,,, pics to come of that later =)
But moving on, I'm going to post the past 3 days of questions in one post today, just to play catch up!
So here we go!!

Day 5:
What is your favorite lipstick, lip gloss, and lip liner?

Alright so I dont know if I'm supposed to do this,, but this is a two way tie on the lipsticks. Some of you might guess this one,,the first is Nude peach fuzz by NYX. I have already done a review of this and there are pictures up of it in an earlier post. My second favorite has to be Naked by Victorias Secret. I dont know what my obsession is with these neutral pinks, but I Love them!! Below are pics of Naked by victorias secret

I dont wear lip liner, so thats an easy one. As for my favorite gloss, Im really loving Coral Reef by Revlon. I can wear it over red, over pink or by itself. its just a really versatile orange shade. Ive used it in an earlier post so im not going to include pictures of me wearing it, but here is what the tube looks like.

Okay so Day 6:
Do you like to wear false lashes, strips or individuals?

I do not wear false lashes. I think a lot of them that I see are really gorgeous and I think that they look beautiful on people that wear them, they're just not my thing. I have really long lashes naturally, and after I curl them, adding faslies would be to much for me =)

Day 7:
Favorite Eye Shadow color?

This is an easy one for me. Pink is my favorite eye shadow color. From gold toned pink to sheer to bright, I love it. I probably use pink in some form around once a week. which is a lot for me bc i have so many different colors. Usaully if a palette includes pink,, its enough for me to buy it. Im a sucker. havent you guys seen my glasses ? =p

Well that wraps it up for days 5-7. I will post day 8 later today. ( I have to let my camera charge). Alright guys,, I'll talk to you later,, bye =)

$5 Makeup Challenge

So we have all seen the $10 and $20 makeup challenges, but I'm taking it a step futher. This one is for those nights that you have been out all night and have $5 to your name and you didnt bring your makeup bag. Then after you realize you dont have your makeup, youve already spent all your money on food and drinks and onlyhave around $5 in your pocket, but your friends arnt ready to go home. haha these things hapen right? So now that I totally set the scene, I'm going to get to the point. I allowed myself $5 to see what kind of look I could pull off in a jam. So I went to the nearest dollar store, bc thats what came to mind, and this is what I found.

From left to right I got
- L.A. foundation in creamy beige
- NYC cheek glow in sutton place peach
-Elf liquid eyeliner in black
-L.A. lipstick in natural
-L.A.shimmering loose eyeshadow in radiant

So at first I was really excited bc I thought I could totally pull this off, I have all the basics right? haha thats when things got ugly.

This is the absolute worst foundation I have ever used. It is basically a really low end tinted moisturizer. I could compare the blendability of this to that of nail polish. And what I mean by that it is, imagine if you tried to blend nail polish, you would basically get a big empty spot in the middle of your nail and all the color along the sides kind of built up and gloppy. This is exactly what happend with this product. I used it for the sake of this review/challenge, but it was just horrible.

So this product I have mixed feelings on. I dont know if it was terrible bc the foundation was so horrible or if its bc the brush sucked, or if it is just a bad product. So, I'm going to play around with this for a few more days and I'll do an updated review.

I was really happy to an elf product when I picked up these other items. some of their products I love, others not so much. this I'll rate at about 2.5 out of 5. it went on easy enough, just not pigmented enough for me. but at a dollar, I'm not going to complain about this one.

So I was actually a little impressed with this one. The texture was really smooth and creamy, and I really love the color. I would probably buy this again if it didnt have such a foul odor. I may try other lipsticks by this brand tho and see if they all smell bad. maybe the one I picked up was just a fluke.

As to be expected with all loose shadows, this was a little messy, and the brush it came with was almost painful to use. It is a really pretty copper color, a little to orange for my skin tone tho, But I imagine some it may work quite well for some people, given that they use a diff brush. So below I posted a picture of my final look. It took me about 10 minutes to complete, seeing as I had limited resources lol. overall I think it turned out okay. would I repurchase most of these products? probably not, but who knows, if I get desperate enough for makeup who knows =p

And yes, I am in my work shirt =) have a good nighgt guys.

30 Day Makeup Challenge Day 4

So the question for todays challenge is:

Do you like wearing foundation, if so what is your color and favorite?

The answer to that question is yes, I love foundation. Not bc I have bad skin, but bc I really feel like your makeup isn't complete without it. To me it just doesnt feel right to have on a beautiful lipstick and a perfect smokey eye, and no foundation. I feel unproportionate lol. But moving on to the second part of the question, right now Im really loving Loreal Visible lift pro retinol vitamin C for my foundation. I have combination/oily skin and I feel like this is perfect. My t-zone doesnt get oily and the rest of my face doesnt get cakey/flakey. But I have realized a lot of that has to do with how I wash and moisturize my face the night before. As for color, I am almost always the second lightest shade in the summer and the lightest shade in the winter. I dont tan or anything but from the little sun I do get,it is enough to usually make me go up a shade during those warmer months.

-Hope you all enjoyed reading this,, have a good day guys =)

Too Faced Summer Eyes 2013

Many of you know this was a palette that came out last year, but has been relaunched. I unfortunately wasn't lucky enough to get this last year, but took full advantage of it this year. This palettte contains nine colors, in 3 diff sets. I have posted a picture below with swatches of each =)

So as you can see, its an insanely pretty palette, most of these colors have a gold sheen to it, which i think is so gorgeous. I am absolutely in love with the coral shade in this palette, Its honestly the reason I bought this. A lot of these colors have very fine glitter in them tho, it can make them hard to work with if your not careful.  Below is the look I achieved using this palette =)

Since orangy shades are trending right now, I paired this eye look with Revlon matte lipstick in smoked peach, and layered it with Revlon lip gloss in Coral reef. Both really pretty orange/ coral shades. I'm deff loving both of these products right now!!! Have a god day guys =)

New Nail polish =), Wet n Wild Casting Call/Rose Sage

As some of you may know, I just did the velvet nails mani only a few days ago. Well as I had guessed, it came right off. All the fuzzies had rubbed off while I was asleep and by the second day the nail polish was chipping off. I probably will still use it again tho, just bc it looks pretty nifty for the day, Just not something meant to keep long term. But moving on =)

So as I was checking out misc cosmetics and I came across this really pretty color by Wet n Wild. It is called Casting Call/Rose Sage 462. It's this really pretty neutral/rose shade, a little darker then I expected, but still really gorgeous.

I was a little unsure at first as to whether or not I liked this color, but in the past couple of hours it has really grown on me. Deffinately a more sophisticated color, probably something I would use on vacation, just bc I can really see this going with multiple outfits. So yeah,, hope this helps =)

30 Day Makeup Challenge day 3

So todays question is:

Favorite Brand?

So this is a really hard question because I like different brands for different reasons. Since I have to pick just one tho, I'm going to have to go with NYX. I love NYX lip and eye products. I honestly havent tried anything as far as foundation is concerned, but Ulta is having a sale in which all NYX products are 40% off, So I'm getting ready to take advantage of that. I think this brand is just amazing, the quality is great and they dupe so many high end products that you just can't go wrong. =)

30 Day Makeup Challenge, Day 2

Alright, so todays topic is:

How did you learn to put on makeup?

I guess you could say makeup came slowly, all through midle school I would only wear eyeliner. During highschool I started picking up on diff things like foundation and blush and all that good stuff. As my makeup collection grew I started watching youtube. Then later I discovered pinterest and I could just copy pictures, And now thats what I'm going to school for =) So I guess the answer to that question is youtube!

Laura Mercier Arabesque Dupe!!!

For all of you Laura Mercier fans, Im sure you know the lipstick shade in Arabesque. for those that dont, it's this insanely pretty shade of neutral pink. On my skin tone it is a very natural not overdone shade of pink.I debated buying this for over a month bc it cost a little over $30. So it is not a cheap lipstick. You can imagine how thrilled I was to find a dupe of this lipstick, and it is completely the same color, 100%. The dupe is NYX xtreme lip cream in xlc11or nude peach fuzz. I think it cost me about $6, and every other month or so Ulta puts NYX products for 40% off. You cannot find a better deal. Texture wise, they are completely different. Arabesque is a VERY creamy lipstick, very similar to the new loreal color riche lipsticks. Nude peach fuzz is a liquid. I actually prefer the NYX, and not just bc of the price, but bc it lasts longer and looks better. Arabesque really shows off the fine lines in my lips, which im not a fan of. I think ive only used the lipstick once, and I have repurchased the NYX shade. Ive put photos down below so you can see for yourself =)

The top swatch is NYX and the bottom is Laura Mercier. the top looks darker, but I think that is bc more product comes off, not bc it is actually darker.

Okay so one side of my mouth I did with Arabesque, the other with Nude peach fuzz. No diff right?

And another with two diff lipsticks. I feel confident that if you didnt know any better, you would think this was all one lipstick. Well I hope this post saves you guys about $25.  And yes, I do my makeup in t-shirts and yoga pants, usually bc I wipe my brushes on my clothes,, oh well lol

30 Day Makeup Challenge

So, I'm going to start something kind of fun. It's called the 30 Day Makeup challenge, each day I will either answer a question about my makeup history, post a picture, or both. Since I'm new to blogging this will be a fun way to intoduce myself as well =)

So the topic of day 1 is:
When did you start putting on makeup?
That's a hard question. The earliest I can remember is about age 7 or so and I used to pretend my chapstick was lipstick. I had all the lipsmakers in every flavor and kind of collected them. I even had the the set that came with the necklace. Now that I think about it I probably looked ridiculous wearing eight chapsticks around my neck, but o'well lol. Can anyone else remember doing that? haha oh elementary school  =p
